Many residents have contact us about silverfish and thus we've collected all the complaints and contacted OD management about this.
external experts have informed us that it's possible the walls were wallpapered over too early which didn't allow them to dry properly creating a very nice environment for the silver fish.
Next to that it was concluded by OD tenant committe that hallways are often not properly ventilated and the temperature is too high also creating a perfect environment for silver fish as they enjoy warm and humid areas.

Over the past few months, many residents have told us they have been experiencing a significant nuisance due to a silverfish infestation in primarily East House, but with a couple of residents also reporting the increased presence of the pests in North and West House. Below we will list the complaints listed over the past few months. Please note that most residents have been experiencing these issues for at least a year or even longer, with some experiencing the nuisances on a daily basis.
Reported silverfish nuisances:
Many silverfish were found in the kitchen area, behind the counters, in the drains, behind the drainage system, in the cabinet above the stove, and are most commonly found in the cutlery drawer.
For some, the cutlery drawer has become completely unusable, since the frequent spotting of the silverfish forced them to transfer their utensils elsewhere
Silverfish crawling on the floor and walls being seen in all areas of the apartments
Frequently seeing silverfish in the hallways of the building
Spotting silverfish coming into individual apartments from the hallway, entering through the gap under the door
Most residents have tried numerous solutions to mitigate the issue: regular cleaning, good ventilation, drying off cutlery completely before storing, storing foods in plastic bags, reducing clutter, using a dehumidifier…
However, residents have expressed great frustration, given that their attempts have not gotten rid of the silverfish in their apartment. Some residents have expressed that they do not feel as though they are able to exterminate the silverfish themselves, since there are still plenty of them in the hallways, finding their way into the individual apartments.
Some residents have chosen to share further information about their apartment and as it currently stands, the silverfish nuisances are present in apartments on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 17th floors in East House.
Considering this, it is logical to assume that the silverfish problem is a building-wide issue, which was not solved by individual residents. Furthermore, silverfish seem to have infested the hallways, which tend to be warm and humid, due to not being properly ventilated - creating an environment ideal for breeding silverfish. Given that the silverfish issues have created an unsettling and unpleasant environment for many of our fellow tenants, we kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter promptly. We believe that a comprehensive and coordinated approach, such as a building-wide extermination, is necessary to effectively tackle the silverfish infestation and prevent its recurrence in the future.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We look forward to your swift action in resolving this issue.
If you also suffer from Silver Fish in your appartment, Don't hestitate to contact OD about this and CC us in the e-mail.
We hope that with sufficient complaints the problem of hot humid hallways will be solved and the bugs will start to move out.
